Bands I hate to love

C-mum and I have started a little challenge, and you are all welcome to join in: List the musical acts you are ashamed to admit you secretly enjoy!

Here are some of mine:
Christina Aguilera
Justin Timberlake/N'Sync
Britney Spears (pre-KFed)
Eminem
That new "Golddigger" song (LOVE it, in fact)
pre-total-freak Michael Jackson*
80s hair bands (Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Winger, GnR, White Lion. Damn, I really love Def Leppard.)*
Anne Murray
Bread
The Bee-Gees*
Disco in general (Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack, especially)*

*I am really not ashamed to admit these. I just think most people would make fun of me for them.

Your turn!

Yeah... I really love Def Leppard too. It's one of the ones I forgot on my list. It's just hard to recall that many bands.

I prefer the blanket term "Bad 80s Metal Bands." It just keeps all bases covered. Although, I do have to draw the line at Poison.

I liked Poisin until "Unskinny Bop". Then they just lost all appeal...

Well,.. we all have some strange tastes in music,.. the ones I'm not TOO ashamed to admit are :

Texas, Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, Blondie, other early-80's stuff, such as Alison Moyet, The Jam, Adam Ant, etc.

Then my taste starts to take a distinct and numerous-direction detour ;) Dire Straits, ABBA, Peter Gabriel, Def Leppard (from the City I was actually born in,.. Sheffield, England), then to the really unusual, such as Andrea Boccelli, Pavarotti, Tchaikovsky,.. heh, even Charlotte Church's new stuff's worth a listen to :)

I been scratching my ass... Ooops! I mean, I been scratching my head over this since Thursday (yes, all weekend, even when I was biking I was thinking about this) and I came to the conclusion that virtually *everything pop* I heard from the '70s is stuff I would be embarrased to have in my record collection... Not to mention I got better things to spend money on, but it includes stuff I'd love to reminisce over... why doesn't somebody just re-broadcast every radio show from the '70s on the Internet?

Anyways, yeah Abba, Bee Gees, Olivia Neutron Bomb, Brotherhood of Man, The Carpenters... OMG BARRY MANILOW HAHA...

"There was blood and a single gun shot,
But just WHO shot WHO?"

LOL

Are you OK getting with tons of hits for Barry Manilow, Barry Manilow, Barry Manilow?

Lever, I suppose getting hits for Barry is better than a lot of other possibilities! God I love Copacabana--you probably remember that being the conga line-inspiring song at the wedding, but did you know we were also treated to a karaoke version the night before the wedding? It was just one big Copacabana weekend.

Now, I've almost forgotten a very shameful song I love: MacArthur's Park ("...someone left the cake out in the rain..."). This song actually used to make me SOB as a child...
