baby blabber

This past month has seen a massive expansion of the belly, which I know is on course to continue plumping up at full steam. I thought it was bad a few months ago when I knocked somebody's drink over with my boob, but I have now begun to inadvertently knock things over with my belly. I was emptying the dishwasher the other day and knocked several things over, including a full glass of water, as a reached up to put dishes into the cabinet.

In other news, the baby had its first case of hiccups yesterday, which was strange in that I'd been thinking about in utero hiccups and wondering if the baby would ever get them and if so, how I would know. It started out feeling like kicks, but when they repeated continuously at regular intervals for 10-15 minutes in the same spot, I figured it either had to be hiccups or else the baby had snuck one of these into the womb:

Perhaps the baby is just laughing at the fact that you keep knocking things over?

That could be it!

One day when I was pregnant with Clare, Jay, Joshua, and I were all outside. Suddenly I couldn't find Joshua. I scanned the yard and still didn't see him. Finally I realized he was standing under my belly, completely hidden from view.

With both pregnancies I regularly banged my belly with the car door. I feel your pain.

I giggle immediately and uncontrollably at hiccups, regardless of whether I have them or someone else does. I don't know why, maybe because they're involuntary and ridiculous. I can't imagine what I'd do if a baby *inside* me had them. That's double the hilarity. In fact, I'm giggling now just thinking about it.

Awwww, lol! I remember how strange it seemed to not be able to, you know, "down there". LOL. And yea, I remember N having hiccups too. It was so funny. Cherish the memories. :)
