Sorry for the lack of posts, but I spent all of last week out of town on business. A few notes from the road:

-I have become WAY too accustomed to my telecommuter habit of wearing sweats and slippers to work. One full day in a suit and heels and I was literally hobbling back to my room at the end of the night.

-I love that almost all public restrooms now have those paper toilet covers. Nothing worse than sitting in someone else's splatter (of course it's always the squatters who are too afraid to let their ass cheeks touch a potentially dirty toilet seat that end up leaving the seats covered in piss drops).

-At one hotel, every time I called room service or the front desk or whatever from my room, they addressed me by name. I thought this was a really nice touch, until I let my alcoholic friend crash in the room with me after a night out and she puked in the bed. At that point I was really longing for anonymity.

-On a related note, flying with a hangover sucks.

Even better than the paper toilet seat covers are the plastic ones that cover the whole seat. You push a button and it advances so you're totally clean. And it eliminates the problem of having the piss drops soak through the paper covers.

I want to see you in a suit and heels.

I wear heels and suits on a fairly regular basis, and still end up hobbling if the heels are on for too long. Am very jealous of telecommuter-wear!

After living in Asia for a few months, where I often had to provide my own toilet paper, I really don't sweat U.S. restrooms anymore. But the squatters are annoying - unfortunately women appear to have no greater aim nor better clean up abilities than men. So annoying.

Been there, done that. Yea, no fun.

You just reminded me of something to be thankful for now that I am single with a daughter: no cleaning up after bad aimers and no falling into the toilet at night... it's the little things that bless me.

MB--YES! The plastic ones are the best, but not as ubiquitous. According to J I look hot in a suit. You can take his word for it.

Kel--I have no problem sitting directly on a public toilet seat...when it's DRY. Unfortunately you usually don't realize it's wet until your cheeks hit the porcelain.

Jennifer--I will be extra thankful now that J always puts the seat back down. Falling in at night? Ick!
