let the baby mania begin

We just ordered the baby bedding for the nursery. How cute is this?!?!

Don't worry, we didn't order *every* accessory they had. Just most of them. I had to order items from 4 different websites because apparently this set has been discontinued or something, but this is the kind of hardcore shopping I am prepared to do as a mom-to-be. I am just that dedicated.

Way to take one for the team.

Just don't let your mini-me ever tell Joshua and Clare what a fancy nursery s/he had. They got minimal--if any--decoration.

Funny you should post this - my mom and I were looking at these sets online today b/c she had one picked out for my soon-to-arrive niece or nephew. She ALSO had found one that was *perfect* for me and showed me what she WOULD get if I would ever cooperate with the general scheme of things, get married, and reproduce. It was a "city baby" set, and I have to say, it was adorable. I told her she could just go ahead and buy it, then cross her fingers that something would actually happen (or, more likely, she would jinx me). If that's what she did, she refused to admit it.

But enough about me - I love that you are preparing so thoroughly for baby! And don't let MB's modesty fool you - her nurseries are super cute.

Super cute! We did a "jungle" theme for little Heath -- Target actually has some nice, affordable companion pieces that you might like -- just in case you have not gone overboard enough. One unintended, but happy consequence of this choice is that my two-year-old loves to make sounds like all of the animals and play in the baby's nursery.

And, I can tell you from my own nursery decorating experiences, having to go all over the Internet to find the pieces you want appears to be the standard! One of my favorite things to do when pregnant with my first was to sit in the completed nursery and go through the clothes waiting for him and just dream about him. Poor little Heath's room was completed only the day before we brought him home from the NICU. Second child and all ...

I'm sure the difference between me and MB is that she manufactured her own cuteness, while I, on the other hand, am lazy and went the store-bought route ;)

Mercedes, I can totally see myself doing that when the nursery's done! Right now I just have a couple of little outfits to look at but I keep finding myself holding them up and smiling...
