How many days of telework* does it take before you have a day where you just don't quite get around to showering?
A-one.....A-twooo.....A-THREE!
To be fair, it was on the fourth day that no shower was to be had. The first three days, the potential presence of the IT guy or the AT&T technician prompted me to groom appropriately. With no such pressure on the fourth day, I went makeup-free and, by late afternoon, was sporting a Pebbles Flintstone hairdo.
You may also be surprised to learn that I've been fairly productive working at home. I think the main driver may be the company's somewhat draconian time-tracking system. As far as I know, there are no job codes for "reading celebrity gossip online" or "toilet cleaning", and if there were, they certainly wouldn't be billable.

the celebrity gossip and toilet cleaning codes must go with a different kind of telework ...
I got into the bad habit of working all morning and showering around 2pm when I worked from home. Wouldn't have been bad, but if my UPS guy had a light day, sometimes he showed up early (he was usually there around 5) and would get me while I was still in my robe w/ a towel on my head (the one time I tried to throw on clothes first, he was gone by the time I got to the door). It happened more than once over the year, I'm pretty sure he didn't think it was an accident.
Ergo, seriously though, my online gossip reading time has substantially decreased...
Kristin, too funny!
It's when you have your day's shower just before you go to bed that you relaise it's all gone Pete Tong!
Surfing, blogging, catching the news on TV, making cup of tea #22, answering personal calls & getting visits 'cos all your friends know you're at home... Aargh!
Thankfully there is a system to make sure that 40 hours work are done... else there'd be no quirky quirky teleworky ;)
check out this telework funny!
